I have that problem too in my savage I attribute it to a problem with my slide in the carb. slowly closing the fuel opening setting up the idle helped a bit but it still hesitates when taking off etc. I'm trying a new slide next week. I'll let you know the results. She actually died totally and wouldnt re-start on the highway going highway speed, I pulled in the clutch and coasted to the bottom of a hill where it re-started after some cursing and hitting the carb. perhaps my float is sticking too? I'll find out next week.
